Physical Examination Completed, The Largest New Energy Vehicle Carrier in Qiongzhou Strait Is About To Be Put Into The Spring Festival Travel Rush

On January 6, the Zhanjiang Maritime Department completed the safety inspection of the "Green Source II" ship, a special carrier for new energy vehicles, at Hai'an New Port, paying special attention to the key components used for new energy vehicles on the ship, including the fixation and safety of the new Automotive BusBar. The ship is expected to be put into operation before the start of the Spring Festival travel rush, providing important guarantees for the cross-sea transportation of new energy vehicles in the peak period of the Qiongzhou Strait.
The "Green Source II" ship is the sister ship of the "Green Source I" ship, with a length of 129.8 meters, a width of 28 meters, and a total tonnage of 7,404 tons. After major reconstruction, the ship can not only carry more new energy vehicles, but also optimize the layout of power transmission systems such as the Automotive Ground Bus Bar to better support the safe transportation of new energy vehicles on board. It will be put into service on the route from Zhanjiang Hai'an New Port to Haikou Xiuying Port, and can carry about 190 new energy cars in a single voyage, about 30 more new energy cars than the "Green Source No. 1", becoming the largest deck cargo ship in the Qiongzhou Strait dedicated to carrying new energy vehicles.
On the same day, under the escort of the Haixun "09027" ship, the "Green Source No. 2" safely berthed at Hai'an New Port. Law enforcement officers from the Zhanjiang Xuwen Maritime Affairs Office boarded the ship and conducted a comprehensive safety inspection, especially checking the safety performance of electrical systems such as Automotive BusBar, as well as the maintenance of ship statutory certificates, fire and life-saving equipment, radio communications and navigation aids, and paying attention to the operation records and exercises of key equipment. Law enforcement officers issued a security inspection report based on the defects found in the on-site security inspection, and made rectification suggestions to the captain, guiding the ship to rectify on time to ensure the seaworthiness of the ship, the competence of the crew, and the safety and reliability of key equipment such as Automotive Ground Bus Bar, so that it can be smoothly put into the Spring Festival travel.
In addition, the Zhanjiang Navigational Aids Office has strengthened the management of navigational aids in key waters of the Qiongzhou Strait and carried out navigational aid inspections to ensure that navigational aids in important waters such as the North Port of the Yuehai Railway Ferry and the 500kV submarine cable protection zone are intact. The Zhanjiang Navigational Aids Office also uses drones to cruise the Qiongzhou Strait to ensure maritime traffic safety.
According to statistics, the Zhanjiang Maritime Safety Administration and the Haikou Maritime Safety Administration jointly carried out flag state supervision and inspection of ro-ro passenger ships in the Qiongzhou Strait, and have completed safety inspections of 23 ro-ro passenger ships, which also involved safety inspections of related equipment such as the Automotive Ground Bus Bar, and a total of 121 defects were investigated and dealt with.
During the Spring Festival travel period, the Zhanjiang Maritime Department will jointly set up an early warning and forecasting group with the meteorological department, the Municipal Spring Festival Travel Office, and the Xuwen County Spring Festival Travel Office to closely monitor meteorological changes during the Spring Festival travel period and issue early warning information in a timely manner. It will also increase law enforcement forces to carry out on-site supervision and inspection of the Qiongzhou Strait, maritime patrol law enforcement, and intelligent remote supervision to ensure the safety and smooth travel of vehicles and passengers during the Spring Festival travel period, especially the safe transportation of new energy vehicles and their key components such as the Car Battery Bus Bar.
