Application Of Fuses in Photovoltaic Inverters

Fuses play an important protective role in photovoltaic inverters and are mainly used to protect circuits in inverters and photovoltaic cell systems from overcurrent and short circuit faults. The following are common ways in which fuses are used in PV inverters:

DC input side protection: The photovoltaic inverter converts the DC power generated by the solar panels into AC power. These fuses should choose the appropriate rated current according to the inverter output power and system design requirements.

AC input side protection: Some photovoltaic inverters may need to be connected to the AC grid for auxiliary power supply or grid-connected operation. On the AC input side of the inverter, fuses are usually installed between the inverter and the grid to protect the inverter and the grid from overcurrent and short circuit. These fuses should be selected according to the rated power of the inverter and system design requirements.

When using a fuse, it is necessary to select the appropriate fuse type and rated current according to the design and rated current requirements of the photovoltaic inverter. In addition, fuses should be installed at suitable locations in the input and output circuits of the inverter, and applicable installation guidelines and standards need to be followed to ensure their proper operation and reliable fault protection functions.
