Product Introduction
Powder coated copper bus bar

Powder coated copper bus bars are purpose-built, custom power transmission components for high-voltage distribution in the new energy and power sectors. Fabricated with high-purity copper as the conductive base, they feature a robust protective layer formed via epoxy powder spraying and other insulation methods. By merging the superior conductivity of copper with the safety benefits of insulating materials, these bus bars serve as a viable alternative to conventional bare copper busbars and cables, addressing key industry challenges including unreliable insulation, inefficient space usage, and limited environmental resilience in high-voltage applications.

Product features

Integrated composite structure

Constructed with high-purity copper as its primary conductor, the Powder coated copper bus bar features a monolithic bond between the insulation layer and the substrate, formed through epoxy powder's chemical fusion. This eliminates the risk of peeling, air bubbles, or insulation defects, ensuring stable performance even under prolonged exposure to demanding industrial environments.

01

Global standards are fully compatible

Compliant with major international copper material standards including GB, DIN, EN, ISO, UNS, JIS and BS, the manufacturing process of Epoxy powder coated insulated busbars adheres strictly to ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality management systems, meeting the compliance requirements of global engineering projects.

02

Wide temperature range weather resistance and stability

Operating reliably across a broad temperature range of -45℃ to +150℃, the Insulation coated busbar demonstrates robust resistance to challenging conditions including high‑frequency vibration, extreme thermal cycling, humidity, and chemical exposure, delivering consistent performance over its full service life.

03

Full dimensional customization capability

Tailored solutions are offered across the entire production chain from base material specification and structural engineering, through surface finishing and insulation application, to supporting hardware selection. This ensures seamless alignment with varied high‑voltage system layouts and installation needs in new energy vehicles, energy storage equipment, and power infrastructure applications.

Application scenarios

New energy electric vehicle (EV) battery pack:

On 800V/1000V high‑voltage platforms, EV battery packs operate in an extremely confined space under constant high‑frequency vibration. Conventional bare copper bars carry inherent short‑circuit risks, while heat‑shrink tubing tends to degrade and fail under such dynamic conditions. In contrast, Busbar epoxi powder coatings deliver thin‑wall insulation via a precision‑controlled epoxy layer (0.3–1.2 mm), reducing installation space requirements by 30%–50% compared to heat‑shrink alternatives. The coating forms a strong chemical bond with the copper substrate, boosting vibration resistance by 40% and eliminating the risk of insulation cracking. With a UL94‑V0 flame retardant rating, these busbars also prevent electrical fires, meeting the strict safety standards demanded inside battery packs while supporting improved energy density and overall system reliability.

New energy photovoltaic energy storage system:

Photovoltaic facilities face long-term exposure to humidity, salt spray and ultraviolet rays, which easily lead to aging and performance degradation of ordinary insulating materials. Epoxy powder insulated copper busbars feature outstanding weather resistance, and paired with nickel-plated surface treatment, they effectively resist coastal salt spray corrosion. Covering a wide operating temperature range of -45℃ to +150℃, these busbars adapt steadily to extreme climates such as high-temperature deserts and cold plateau areas. They maintain stable insulation performance for photovoltaic inverters and energy storage battery assemblies throughout a 25-year service cycle, preventing insulation failure and significantly cutting daily operation and maintenance costs.

Electrical appliances and distribution cabinets:

High and low voltage distribution cabinets often require frequent component disassembly and replacement, yet conventional insulation methods limit on-site assembly efficiency. Our Powder coating EV busbars are optimized for automated inline manufacturing, featuring thermoset epoxy coatings that withstand continuous high temperatures up to 180℃, perfectly fitting the hot internal operating environment of electrical enclosures. Matched with American PEM stainless steel fasteners, they enable modular, plug-and-play installation, minimizing equipment shutdown time and greatly enhancing daily maintenance efficiency for industrial power systems.

Application and production technology of Powder coated copper bus bar

production process

Substrate Forming and Pre treatment

Copper busbar powder coating is made of high-purity copper, which is CNC cut, stamped, and bent into customized structural components; Then, through ultrasonic cleaning, degreasing and polishing, the surface oil stains and oxide layers are thoroughly removed, laying a clean foundation for subsequent processes.

01

Surface treatment and insulation spraying

After finishing customized anti-corrosion treatments like silver plating, tin plating or nickel plating, Epoxy coating powder busbar adopts professional electrostatic spraying technology to evenly and firmly adhere to the copper surface, forming a complete, compact and defect-free insulating film with stable dielectric performance.

02

High temperature curing and assembly processing

After spraying, components are transferred to a high-temperature curing oven for fusion and hardening, creating a durable, integrated bond between the protective coating and copper base. Following this process, premium PEM stainless steel fasteners and mounting hardware are installed according to custom project requirements.

03

Full testing and protective packaging

The finished Powder coated copper bus bar has passed multiple performance tests such as pressure resistance, adhesion, temperature rise, and salt spray to ensure that all indicators meet the standards; Finally, pearl cotton/vacuum formed boxes+cardboard/pallets are used for protective packaging and delivered to the customer.
