Implementation of corrosion resistance of aluminum battery casing.

May 06, 2023

Aluminum battery cases require good corrosion resistance to prevent corrosion in humid, acidic, or alkaline environments that could affect battery life.

To achieve corrosion resistance in aluminum battery cases, the following methods can be utilized:

  1. Selection of appropriate aluminum alloy materials: Aluminum battery cases should be made of aluminum alloy materials with good corrosion resistance, such as 6061 or 6063 aluminum alloy. These alloys have good oxidation and corrosion resistance properties.
  2. Surface treatment technology: The surface of the aluminum battery case can be treated using methods like anodizing, electroplating, spraying, etc., to improve its surface hardness and corrosion resistance. Anodizing is a commonly used surface treatment technique that can form a dense oxide film to prevent further corrosion of the aluminum surface.

  3. Reasonable design of the battery case structure: A reasonable structural design can effectively protect the batteries and other components inside the aluminum battery case, reducing corrosion to the aluminum battery case. Adding partitions, waterproof pads, and other designs to the battery case can effectively prevent leakage or short circuits of the battery and reduce corrosion to the aluminum battery case.
