 Maoneng Builds Australia's Largest Renewable Energy Hub

Sydney renewable energy developer Maoneng said the proposed Merriwa Energy Hub in the Hunter region of New South Wales (NSW) would be one of the country's largest renewable energy hubs, comprising a 550MW PV plant and a 400MW/ 1600MWh battery energy storage system. The US$1.6 billion project is located approximately 180km northwest of Newcastle and is designed to address the regional energy supply and grid stabilization needs of the National Electricity Market (NEM).
