2023 International Energy Change Forum Opens in Suzhou

Yesterday (September 6th), the 2023 International Energy Change Forum, co-hosted by the National Energy Administration, Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and the International Renewable Energy Agency, opened in Suzhou. Xu Kunlin, Deputy Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Governor, Zhang Jianhua, Director of the National Energy Administration, and Cameron, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Ali Shahbana, delivered a speech through video format. Cao Lubao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech. Ma Xin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, Lv Deming, Secretary General of the Provincial Government, and Wu Qingwen, Deputy Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor attended.

Xu Kunlin said that energy is the foundation and driving force of economic and social development, and is crucial for national prosperity and development, improvement of people's lives, and long-term social stability.

In his speech, Cao Lubao said that Suzhou is continuously exploring the sustainable development path under the "dual carbon" goal, fully promoting the integration of energy technology and digital technology, and strengthening the supply chain and extension around fields such as photovoltaic, wind power, smart grid, power battery and energy storage, hydrogen energy, and smart energy, accelerating the construction of innovative clusters in the new energy industry with international competitiveness, and building a diversified clean energy supply system.

During the forum, a themed exhibition titled "10th Anniversary of China's Energy Revolution" was held, and the International Energy Change Alliance was established. A series of achievements were released, including the "Energy Revolution, China in Action" themed video, the "Global Clean Energy Partnership Initiative", and the "Blue Book of the Energy Change Index" report.
More than 2000 dignitaries, energy ministers, ambassadors, and senior officials from 20 countries and regions, leaders and high-level representatives of some international energy organizations, as well as leaders and high-level representatives of domestic and foreign energy enterprises, research institutions, and industry associations, participated in the event. City leaders Gu Haidong and Wang Yang, as well as the Secretary General of the Municipal Government Yu Yu, attended.
