Huawei At The Munich International Solar Photovoltaic Exhibition

May 12, 2022

According to Mobile World Live, Huawei is trying to further emphasize its credentials in the sustainable technology market by deploying artificial intelligence and power management tools to optimize energy storage and use.

At Intersolar Europe in Munich, Germany, the company showcased upcoming additions to its systems designed to help businesses and consumers get the most out of their solar panels while improving safety.

Among them is the residential smart photovoltaic solution 3.0 of Huawei's FusionSolar Europe series. In addition to the panel itself, it contains various elements of a smart home energy system - smart modules that optimize energy harvesting, energy storage devices that save unwanted power for later use, connected electric vehicle charging points, smart energy controllers, as well as a management system and an app that can control various elements.

Huawei is also preparing to launch a related artificial intelligence assistant, EMMA, which will use big data assets, including the latest weather forecast and historical data, to provide estimates of photovoltaic power generation, which can then adjust the power system accordingly.

At enterprise convenience, new products include systems designed for utility-scale photovoltaic power plants and smart microgrids.

Huawei has been in the energy space for some time, with a series of large-scale deployments in various markets. It seeks to position the product line as "a testament to Huawei's ongoing commitment to technological innovation and sustainable development".

Hariram Subramanian, CTO of Huawei FusionSolar Solutions Europe, said at the press conference that rising energy costs and electricity consumption are key drivers for new smart power systems.
