Detailed Explanation of the Characteristics and Industry Application Boundaries of Insulated Copper BusBar Epoxy Coated
Jun 21, 2026
In the field of power distribution and new energy vehicle electronic control high-voltage components, Insulated Copper BusBar Epoxy Coated, also known as epoxy-coated insulated copper bar, has become a core conductive insulation component in high-voltage power distribution and new energy vehicle electronic control systems. The industry has developed multiple standardized product names, including Electrical Copper Bar Epoxy Resin Powder Coating, Copper Bar with Epoxy Powder Coating, Epoxy Powder Coating Custom Copper Busbar, etc., to adapt to customized production needs under different working conditions.

Processing technology
The core processing method for this type of busbar is epoxy resin spray insulation processing. The mainstream relies on two mature processing technologies: electrostatic spraying and dip coating. A homogeneous epoxy resin protective coating is constructed on the surface of the original copper bar substrate, and a rigid integrated insulation structure is formed through a constant temperature and high temperature curing process. This is also a common standardized processing technology for Epoxy Powder Coating Copper Bars and Customized Powder Coated Bus Bars.

Core performance
From a core performance perspective, epoxy-coated insulated copper busbars exhibit outstanding insulation capabilities, with a substrate coating breakdown voltage reaching 20kV/mm and above. They are suitable for high-voltage applications such as 800V-class new energy battery packs, and also for use with Coating Spray Copper Earth Ground Bus Bars. The product's temperature range covers -40℃ to 150℃, with stable insulation performance across the entire temperature range. It meets the UL94 V-0 flame retardant standard and is suitable for two types of power distribution-specific bars: the Power Distribution Copper Bus Bar Epoxy Powder Coating and the Neutral Copper Epoxy and Powder Coated Neutral Copper Busbar.
Relying on a high-density, sealed coating structure, the Insulated Copper BusBar Epoxy Coated can effectively resist the corrosion of electrolyte inside the new energy battery pack and the erosion of moisture inside the compartment. It is suitable for complex working conditions with high and low humidity and chemical corrosion. In addition, the standard coating thickness is only controlled between 0.1mm and 0.3mm, which has minimal interference with the thermal conductivity and heat dissipation of the copper substrate. For working conditions, thermally modified epoxy resin with a thermal conductivity of ≥1.0W/m・K can be selected to take into account both insulation and heat dissipation performance. It is suitable for the production and customization of the Custom Insulated Copper Busbar for High Voltage Equipment.

Working condition adaptation
In terms of mechanical compatibility, the epoxy powder coating has excellent adhesion to the copper substrate and can withstand high-frequency vibration and external impact under working conditions. The coating is not easy to crack or fall off. It can be used for fixing high-voltage copper busbars of the positive and negative terminals of battery packs, and it is also suitable for high-density narrow wiring areas with insulation spacing ≤5mm. At the same time, it can be bent and processed into epoxy powder insulated bending copper bars to meet non-standard wiring installation requirements. It is equipped with a full-process epoxy bus bar coating and busbar epoxy coating special coating process.
