Fundeen And RP Global Raise Funds To Build A 400MW Photovoltaic Project in Spain

On Monday, Spanish crowdfunding platform Fundeen offered Spanish residents an opportunity to invest in a 400-megawatt solar PV project that Austrian renewable energy developer RP Global is working on in the Murcia region.
Fundeen and RP Global are looking to raise 450,000 euros ($481.760) to help independent power producers (IPPs) cover part of the development and construction costs of the Carril solar power plant in Spain's southeastern region.
This opportunity first extends to residents living near the project site. Fundeen said that as of Monday, people from elsewhere in Spain could join the fundraising campaign.
Opportunities close on May 30. As of Tuesday morning, the project had raised nearly 139,000 euros, according to Fundeen's website. Fundeen itself donated 5,000 euros to the project.
Citizens' investments will be treated as loans with an annual rate of return of 5%-6%, accruing interest every six months from the date of disbursement. RP Global is the guarantor of the loan.
Fundeen added that with the Carril solar project still in development, the promoters may not be able to obtain all the permits and have to repay the loan early.
