With the Help of "Double Carbon" Colombia Will Increase Investment in Renewable Energy -- Photovoltaics and Energy Storage!

The industry press recently interviewed Colombian Minister of Mines and Energy Diego Mesa at an industry summit hosted by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) in New York. Mesa elaborated on the development history and current situation of Colombia's photovoltaic industry, and introduced details of the latest projects, including the largest photovoltaic park in Colombia built by Italian group Enel and the first large-scale cell deployed in the country by Canadian Solar. energy storage project.

Mesa pointed out that the Colombian PV market is developing rapidly. To date, the country has installed a total of 710MW of PV systems, most of which are grid-connected.

Mesa introduced the history of photovoltaic power generation in Colombia, which passed legislation to promote renewable energy in 2014. But it wasn't until four years later that positive incentives and measures were introduced. As a result, until 2018, only one PV system with an installed capacity of 18MW was installed in the country. Considering that Colombia's solar radiation levels are about 60% higher than the global average, the installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in the country does not match well with its abundant solar resources, Mesa noted.

Italy's Enel Green Power currently leads the country's PV market, having installed its largest PV project to date in Colombia, which was connected to the grid six weeks ago. Developed and owned by Enel Green Power, the 187MW PV farm in Aaloma, with 187MW of installed capacity, exceeds the cumulative installed PV capacity in Colombia until last year, according to the latest statistics released by the International Renewable Energy Agency.

Enel Green Power built an 87MW photovoltaic farm in El Paso, Cesar province in 2019. Photovoltaic and battery storage manufacturers Canadian Solar and Trina Solar were also the first to enter the Colombian market. Trina Solar Energy developed a 100MW PV farm, which it later sold to Colombian utility Isagen, with 60MW already in operation and another 40MW due to come online this quarter.

With the continuous expansion of photovoltaic projects in Colombia and other emerging renewable energy markets, the demand for reliable solar mounting and installation components is also increasing. In large-scale solar power plants, structural accessories such as aluminum alloy solar panel clamps play a critical role in ensuring the stability, safety, and long-term performance of photovoltaic modules under various environmental conditions.

As a professional manufacturer of precision metal components for the renewable energy industry, our company provides high-strength solar panel aluminum alloy clamps designed for efficient module fixation and long-term outdoor durability. Manufactured with corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy and precision machining processes, these clamps offer excellent structural stability, lightweight advantages, and reliable performance in large-scale photovoltaic installations.
